Background Information

Access Recycling

ACCESS Recycling is a leading supplier of metal recycling services to mining, rail and other heavy industries throughout the eastern states of Australia. Its core business is to 'Create Recycling Solutions' by solving complex metal salvage challenges. Years of experience in all facets of recycling (metal and non-metal), Access Recycling has developed a fully integrated recycling service with a network of fixed sites where individuals and industry can bring their scrap metals for recycling.  Access Recycling also operates a number of metal processing and export packing plants with direct access to steel mills throughout Asia.

 

Access Recycling processes in excess of 85,000 tonnes of scrap metal and 20,000 tonnes of concrete and timber products each year. Access Recycling has permanent sites in Pyrmont (Sydney city), Artarmon (Sydney North Shore), Canberra, Barmedman, Cobar,and Wagga Wagga. Access Recycling employs 80 full time staff and has a large contingent of contract service providers.

 

Access Recycling’s Fyshwick site has been the central metal recycling point for Canberrans for more than 30 years. It has changed hands several times and in 2013 became part of Access Recycling. In late 2014 Access Recycling installed a large metal shearing plant, magnetic separation system, shipping container rotator and container handling forklift. Access Recycling operates a similar site, with the same type of equipment in Wagga Wagga, where over 150 containers per month are sent by train to Port Melbourne.

 

ESPEE Railroad Services

ESPEE Railroad Services is an Accredited Rail Operator in New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria. ESPEE is a wholly-owned business of the Australian Railway Historical Society (ACT Division) Inc., and has been trading since 1974. ESPEE’s commercial activities generate income for the Australian Railway Historical Society and Canberra Railway Museum. This important revenue stream is used to maintain and enhance a significant tourist attraction and historical railway collection.

CFCLA is largest provider of tailored locomotive and rolling stock leasing solutions to rail operators throughout Australia. CFCLA has leased the rolling stock to Access Recycling for a 5 year period.
